ADTtE: Minecraft - Day 2

Day 2

As I walked across the grassy plain, I noticed several sheep in the vicinity. I wasn't entirely sure what I'd be able to do with wool, but one can never be too prepared. I collected as much wool as the three sheep in the area would give me and continued onward.

A few minutes later, I stumbled upon my first amazing discovery: a dungeon within the side of a mountain. Inside, the floor was made of moss-covered stone, a treasure chest was set in the back corner, and a strange metal crate sat in the middle, rapidly spawning vicious spiders.

I set my workbench down and quickly crafted myself a wooden blade. I crouched down and crept silently along toward the dungeon, and when the beasts were in range, I attacked! The strange metal crate kept creating more and more of these demons, so when I had cleared the room a fourth time, I destroyed it, ensuring that no more creatures could be summoned.

I examined the contents of a treasure chest: a stack of torches, a loaf of bread, three pieces of string, which only added to the five I had already obtained from the spiders, and a golden pocket watch of sorts. Fate has smiled upon me this day, as I have obtained many useful objects, including a way for me to keep track of the time while I explore the many caverns this world has been known to offer.

I set up the torches within the now-secured dungeon, as it occurred to me that the demons of the night rise up not due to the moon, but the darkness it fails to illuminate. I walled up the entrance as well, so no ethereal beasts from the outside could enter.

I had a sudden stroke of brilliance and attempted to craft something using my newly-acquired wool. With the wool and a few planks combined, I created a bed in which I could sleep soundly through the night. I used the treasure chest in the dungeon to store my supplies and took to my new bed, eager for the sun to rise again.
